#ThrowbackThursday: Diahann Caroll circa 1978

I love drawing upon timeless inspirations for beauty. One of my faves is the radiant Diahann Carroll.

Born in July of 1935 in the Bronx, Carol Diann, now known as Diahann became a recipient of the Metropolitan Opera scholarship for New York's High School of Music and Art at the age of 10. Well known for holding her own against starlets like Pearl Bailey, Dorothy Dandridge, Diahann broke major ethnic barriersin 1968, becoming a top billed African American actress for the TV show "Julia". She is best known for her role in the 1980's show "Dynasty".

This particular picture was taken in 1978, but there are so many modern elements to this photo.

Winged eyeliner, full brows, short unfussy hair, yeah this week's inspo is current enough to be featured in any mag today.

I guess the adage is true, the classics always recycle.
