Black History Month and Alternative Facts
Today is the first day of Black History Month!
As you can see from the Readables this morning, I might be a tad on the excited side for that. It could be the current political climate, it could be the undercurrent of woke-ness that is both inspiring and encouraging, it could be the general honor I feel to be apart of a group of people who have established history, medicine, science, faith, mathematics, music, etc. Black people have come through so much, overcome so much, and have given so much to culture, especially the American culture, 28 Days just doesn't seem enough to celebrate.
Enter Because Of Them, reminding us that Black History doesn't start with slavery, and certainly does not end with the Obamas. Here is a great video they have created to challenge these "alternative facts" and to get you psyched for Black History.
