Candle Jar Storage (aka the easiest DIY you'll do today)

Ever get down to the bottom of that fancy candle you love and wonder if and what to do with that glass jar it came in? Most people throw them out without thinking, but with minimal ingenuity, you can give those beautiful jars new life and a new job.

Fashionistas and make up junkies alike try to find beautiful ways to contain and display our beauty products. One of the most fabulous (and frugal) ways is to display them using This has to be one of the easiest and chicest DIYs I've done and what comes out of this art project? Lovely glass jar storage from your favorite candles.

Here's how...

Step 1:
Burn your candle down as low as you can. Ideally, you should wait until the wick will no longer light. While your burning your candle down, boil some water, enough to fill the candle jar 2 or 3 times if necessary (sometimes you have to repeat step 2 a few times.)

Step 2:
Pour the boiled water into the jar. Give it a few seconds to work on the wax.
Some candle wax will come out easier than others and you won't need Step 3. But for those who do...

Step 3:
Find a heat resistant utensil to carefully scrape the wax without sloshing the water around. I used this fork.

With one hand in an oven mitt, hold the glass jar steady, and with the other hand, gently scrape around until the wax comes loose.

Pour wax and water into a disposable container. I used an old jelly jar that I could easily toss into the trash once the water cooled.

Step 4:
Repeat Steps 2 and 3 as necessary until all of the wax comes out of the jar. Then, with some glass cleaner and a paper towel, clean the jar.

And there you have it. What do you end up with? Gorgeous and glamorous glass containers and storage for your products.
