The Best Moments of 2018

It is officially the LAST day of 2018.

What a year, yall. There were so many events and happenings this year, it was hard to keep up. Some were interesting, some were devastating. But rather than go through each and every one, I have decided to pull the BEST moments from popular culture.

Here are a few of the best moments of 2018:

Oprah Winfrey's Demille Award Acceptance speech launched us into the year empowered.
Black Panther and CrazyRich Asians proved the power of letting people of color tell their own stories.
Kendrick Lamar receives the Pulizter Prize for "Damn".
The Royal Wedding happened and it was probably the Blackest thing that the Tudors had ever experienced.

Drake's "Nice For What" gave girls the lyrics and the visuals we didn't know we needed.
The MET Gala turned into Wakanda.
Childish Gambino's "This is America" Music Video artfully discusses gun violence, politics, police brutality, and societal distraction.

Beyonce and Jay Z release "Everything is Love" and the Apeshit video gives art nerds and Bey/J fans a reason to stan.
Serena Williams came back to competition after her pregnancy.
Aretha Franklin's Funeral gave us at least 7 hours of quality auditory tributes and beautiful musical salutes to the legend (I edited out the hour of that trash eulogy and Ariana Grande being assaulted in stage. Christians we need to do better.)
Beyoncé's Vogue magazine offers transparency ad insight and FUPA appreciation.
Colin Kaepernick's Nike Commercial made Racists mad again while shouting out athletic and cultural greats.
Beyonce's Coachella Performance altered history.
Michelle Obama's Book "Becoming" gave us the quotes of the next century.

The MidTerm Elections prove that the people have had enough of the nonsense and exclusionary BS of politics in history making elections.
