Say it with me...TIGHTS ARE NOT PANTS

This hosiery as pants thing really upsets me.

Like, look at this? Seriously? Does this even look good? We're you intending for your whole booty to be shown? Really?

Ladies, I honestly don't care what your body type is, this is NEVER  a good look.

I'm serious, and now with the cold weather actually present, there remains no rational (although there never really was) reason to let this happen.

I know, I know, you don't need nor want another blog ranting about the horrors of the ass-crackery that has been occurring the last few years with this trend. Too bad, you broads aren't getting it. So here's another...

Let me explain...

Pants: come in a variety of sizes shapes colors patterns textures fabrics cuts and styles. Pants are awesome. When in doubt, go with pants...please.

Leggings: I'll let this one slide for those who can pull it off without looking sloppy or trashy (i.e. The notorious muffin top, seeing every lump, bump and crevice of your lower body.) I also like the patterned legging look, but once again, you MUST be honest with yourself. Not harsh, but honest about what fits you and what doesn't. It doesn't make you any less beautiful that the leg trend that certain body types can wear you can't wear. You fit what fits and looks good on you and makes you feel amazing.

I digress...these should be worn BENEATH a dress, tunic, or a sweater long enough to cover your lady lumps. Super thick ones you may be able to get away with, but still, PLEASE, C.Y.A.!

Hosiery: never...never ever ever ever to be worn without the accompaniment of another garment layer over them. Ever. Period. Unless you are a circus performer, ice skater, ballet dancer or some form of gentlemans club performer, we really don't need to see the fish net rose on your stockings goes all the way up to your booty. No, we REALLY don't.

And no, putting on Tan Uggs and a denim chambray over them does not make it better if I can still see your thong.

Please do the rest of society a favor, if you're going to wear the legging trend, make sure:
A) there is the word "Pants" somewhere in the title (here's a hint, most pants aren't completely see through.)
B) that they are your size. Nothing worse than plumbers crack and an explosive muffin top for a girl who swears she's 2 letter sizes smaller than she is.
C) they suit YOU. The fun of fashion is crafting your own unique but coherrant look. Trends are used to update the classics, but the classics will always stand. If this look isn't you. Don't wear it. Be true to you, not the trend.

In summary, think about what you wear and what it says about who you are. PLEASE VALUE YOURSELF! Do not relegate yourself to a terrible an embarrassing trend. YOU are the consumer. YOU have buying power. YOU will wear what you want and smart brands will be wise enough to make what you want to buy, not vice versa! Use that buying power, set your own classy and fun trends. And leave the hosiery for underneath a gorgeous dress or tunic...please. Pretty please.

Glad I have some fashionable people who agree with me... Check out what the Huffington Post has to say: http://m.huffpost.com/ca/entry/2718532
