Man Crush Monday: BET AWARDS 2015

Last night was the highly anticipated BET Awards. The evening of course was star studded and full of musical performances and tributes and things of that nature.

But by now, you all know I'm interested in one thing...THE RED CARPET. Of course I like music and dedications and presentations, but it's the outfits that get me. The styles, the tailoring, the colors, the details are what I love.

And since it's still Man Crush Monday on The Reclaimed, it's the gents turn to get the spot light (sorry ladies.)

So without further ado, here is The Reclaimed's Best Dressed of The 2015 BET awards:

Miles Brown
How dapper is this miniature gent right here. Styling and profiling, this dude was better dressed than over half of his adult counterparts. Well done.

Marcus Scribner
This teen is poised to win many young ladies hearts in this dapper look. Very 50's meets modern.
Russell Wilson
Russell makes quite the catch in this monochrome tailored to the T look.

Jay Ellis
Summer dapper with a hint of blue makes this look sizzle.

Diggy Simmons
Just the perfectly put together gentleman in this very grown up gray ensemble.

Big Sean
Relaxed yet put together paired very will with the perfect shoes.

Michael B. Jordan
I love the risk Michael took in pairing this green suit and shirt with a blue tie, a risk that worked very very well for him. Very well done.

Anthony Anderson
The evening's host looks classically dapper in this tux and red bow tie

Boris Kodjoe
My favorite look of the night! Summery meets dressy meets edgy. Unexpected and well tailored.

Great job gents!

The Friday Find: Marble Luxe

I love the look and feel of marble. The coolness of the white interrupted my smokey beams of gray or veins of black makes things feel instantly luxurious. Smooth, elegant, instantly classic, marble is a pattern that many people wouldn't think to wear or carry for summer.

But, on the right fabric, this print's cool nature can also translate to cool comfort on warmer days, gives sneakers an edgier look, glans up basic white pants, makes jewels stand out and structures up an unusually shaped tee.

Here's my top marble pieces, each of course at a very reasonable price. Happy Friday!

#ThrowbackThursday: Tracee Ellis Ross Groovy Genes

It is no secret that Tracee Ellis Ross slays. An eclectic mix of bohemian and urban elements with a dash of rock star glam give her a sometimes hippy, sometimes sharp, but always chic look.

Recently I noticed that a few of her looks resembled another amazing woman:
That's right! Her mom, the incomparable Diana Ross!

Slaying stylishly is in Tracee's genes and both these ladies do it well. In fact, I noticed that a lot of how Tracee currently styles herself can be traced back to her mom used to be styled in the 70's.

Here's what I mean:

Well Suited

Big Hair and Glittery Gowns

Dressy Jumpsuits

High Waisted

Glitz and Glam

Elegant and Ethereal

Glimmers Jumpsuits

Tracee, although a trailblazer in her career and life, follows so beautifully in her mom's fashionable footsteps.
Sometimes, being an amazing person and being stylish can be found in the genes.
