Pencil Me In; Creative Calendars for Your New Year

Fashion in Review: The Best of 2013

Fashion in Review: The Best of 2013

2013 was a strange year.

Platform boots, bracelet stacks and floppy felt hats worth of the Flower Children of the 70's re-emerged. At the same time iridescent everything, ombré hair and bespectacled headphones took the industry in a more futuristic direction. Everything became High-Low, irregular, or uneven. Our jeans became super skinny. Our pants, shirt sleeves, and coat sleeves became leather. We forfeited our uggs for combat boots.

And we loved every minute of it.

Here's to you, 2013. What a strange, cool, and fun year.

December: The Best Thrifting Month of 2013

December has been one of the best thrifting months I've had. Like I've said before, for the price of your weekly Starbucks, you can grab amazing and good quality items.

Here are a few of the items not mentioned. Everything you are about to see totaled me about 50 bucks:

Kate Spade Gold Peep Toe Flats.

This great little Coach Tweed Houndstooth Clutch.

This adorable fabric Coach Skinny Wallet with Key Fob.

This super cool Dooney and Bourke Black Crossbody

Marc Jacobs Clutch (I heart Marc)

This Mazing Armani Blazer

The great Zara Blazer (seen pictured above)
And this great Jones New York Blazer

December was a great month indeed! Many of these items are being categorized, pictured, and priced to be listed on ebay shortly. If you are interested in purchasing any of them, please check out the account "Godsgirlalese".

The Worst of 2013: 5 things I wish we hadn't done

The Worst of 2013: 5 things I wish we hadn't done
2013 is almost in our rear view.

Before I present the top 5 best looks of 2013, I thought I would highlight some of the worst. Just for fun. So here they are:

1. Overalls: I think these over-all suck. (Get it) Here's the thing, I used to wear them...in middle school. But with all the overall sporting peeps out there, and making them in fabrics like leather? I just couldn't get down with this. If you're under the age of 12 (but not in leather), then fine, but for the rest of us, let's leave the Osh-Kosh for the tikes.

2. Crazy Ugly Platforms: leave these in the 90's with mixed tapes and the Macarena.

3. Harem Pants: Let's leave this look to the stage people.

4. Circle Glasses: Okeydokey Mr. Magoo...(for my younger audience, Google him)

5. Waaaay too short Shorts: umm "ladies" let's leave something to the imagination. I know denim cut offs are the hip thing, but when your panties are longer than your shorts, there's just something wrong.

Bonus: anything Miley... She's a mess, she can't twerk (it's looks like an 11 year old boy with a backside like uncooked chicken) and she needs to cut it.
