We just call it...
Last night was the 10th Annual Black Girls Rock, a celebration of phenomenal Woman from the African diaspora. It was indeed an inspirational celebratory evening, full of awards and accolades, empowering speeches, and an atmosphere of sisterhood and positivity.
And unlike previous years, the media is full of nothing but positive thing to say about the event. ABC News collected the most inspirational quotes from the evening, one of the most inspirational coming from Danai Gurira, saying
"I know it can get tough out there. It can get downright ugly. I have walked the path or some version of it but know that you are designed for greatness. You have a resilience that is in your DNA...whether you want it or not. You are what the world is waiting for. Whether the world acknowledges that or not. Step into your uniqueness. Protect it. Nurture it. It is precious. No one can do what you can do or contribute what you are destined and designed to contribute."
Yep this moment was full of beautiful moments. To say I'm proud of the entire event is an understatement. #Blackgirlmagic is so happening, not just in the honorees and attendants, not just in the event, but also in the slayage that took place.
