Black Owned Woke Brands

The term "Woke" has reached oversaturation status.

What used to be an insult to those who were a little too invested in conspiracies and Hotep circles went to being a compliment for those who have been paying attention to all of the pure foolishness that is culture and politics today. Being woke, or conscious has been the survival state and saving grace of Black People since they arrived here on these foreign shores. Reading the rooms we enter, being the canary in the coalmines, addressing the elephant in the room, knowing how to read coded language as injustice, all of these are attributes of wokeness we have all come to appreciate.

However, you feel about the term woke, It appears to be here to stay, presiding comfortably within our fashion, scrawled across our tees, lined down our track pants, and loudly stretching across our backs. And we are so proud to wear it.

Here are 5 of my favorite Black Owned brands that blend cute and woke effortlessly.
