Happy Thanksgiving from The Reclaimed

Happy Thanksgiving!

There is simply so much to be thankful for. I am sure that if we were to write out every blessing, every victory, every single solitary thing that we have been given, including our next heartbeat and next breath, from just this year, I am sure we would quickly run out of paper, and reasons to complain.

Thanksgiving is not just a day, especially a day full of potential gluttony.

Thanksgiving is a lifestyle, a lifestyle of gratitude. 1 Thessalonians 16-18 says "Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus." It is God's will for us to approach our days with gratitude.

But this gratitude is not a once size fits all mood. Gratitude may look different depending on the situation.

Gratitude after receiving a gift looks different than gratitude after receiving bad news; our excitement after receiving a gift is palpable, but our gratitude in the lessons we learned from a "bad" situation may be less so, but it doesn't make that gratitude any less important. Romans 8:28 says "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." God takes even the bad in our lives and works it out for our good and His glory. And that is something to certainly be grateful for.

I am super grateful for all of you who keep this blog an active and fun community, where various ideas and beliefs can meet, converge, and be respected. I am grateful I have the opportunity to share my thoughts, hopes, fears, fails and victories and a little fashion with each of you.

I am thankful for another year as your blogging and podcasting pal. Here's to many more. Happy Thanksgiving yall.
