Dear Men: Stop Making Unnecessary Comments on Women Who are Literally Just Existing

I was scrolling mindlessly on my Facebook when I passed a photo from one on my friend's profiles, similar to the post to the left. His caption read something similar as well. Not just that, his comments section was full of men in agreement, saying that this was deception, that they felt lied to, and so on.

This infuriated me.

This woman is literally just putting on makeup. She could be doing this for any reason, and yet, so many men assumed that this woman was doing this for them.

Hate to break it to you, buddy, but women do not exist merely for your pleasure or commentary. Women can wear anything, whether a fresh face or a full beat, without the encouragement, discouragement, love or hate of men. In fact, sis does.

Plus, guys, have you ever considered that you don't know anything about her? You don't know why she decides to wear full faces of makeup. She may genuinely love it (which go off, sis. Makeup is art and you are creating masterpieces.) But what if this was a pick-me-up? what if this was a mood booster? What if she just wanted to wear it?

It doesn't mean that she has less value or is less worthy because of the amount of makeup she chooses or chooses not to wear. Her life choices are not up for discussion of men, on and off of the internet. She should be able to comfortably and confidently exist without you and guess what, she does. Get over your fragile, insecure self and let people who aren't doing anything but existing.
